Introduction to Editor

Pro users have access to our mobile Editor, which contains a number of toolbars that enable you to edit and mark up AutoCAD drawings. You can add basic shapes or make text annotations. AutoCAD mobile provides better accessibility by allowing you to use this to make touch-ups while in the field or on the road. Access each toolbars by tapping its icon on the command ribbon at the bottom of your device screen.
Free users can utilize AutoCAD mobile as a viewer, and have access to selected tools

 


Toolbars
Draw – Tap to add markups to the drawing
Markup – Tap to add annotations
Measure – Tap is you wish to measure something
Dimensions – Tap to add dimensions to objects
GPS – Set your location to walk through your drawing (Available for free users)
Color – Tap to change color
 
Edit – Shows the tools available for use on a selected object.
 

Draw

Smart Pen – Choose the smart pen for free hand sketching. The smart pen has automatic shape recognition. Use two fingers to pan when smart pen is active.
Line – Tap the point you want the line to start from and then tap where you want it to end. Tap the box to edit the length before finishing.  
Polyline - Tap the point you want the polyline to start from and then tap to create the next point. After each point you can edit the length of the line created by tapping the box and editing the number. 
Rectangle – Tap and drag or just tap two points to create a rectangle. Once it appears you can edit the measurements by tapping the text boxes.
Circle - Tap and drag or just tap two points (radius length) to create a circle. Once it appears you can edit the radius by tapping the text box.
Arc - Tap and drag or just tap two points to create a line. Once the line is created, pull the middle of it to create the arc you want.

 
Mark Up
Text – Tap a point in the drawing where you want to enter text.
Cloud – Drag your finger around the part of the drawing you want to mark.
Marker – Draw freely. To change the color use "color icon"
Insert Photo – Take a picture or choose from the camera roll. Once inserted the picture can be scaled and moved. Don't forget to approve to keep the image.
Arrow – Tap and drag or just tap two points to create an arrow.
 

Measure (Available for free users)
Distance - Tap and drag or just tap two points to measure the distance between them. If you drag your finger, the distance will change in real time. Tap V to close.
Area – Tap the points surrounding the area you want to measure. Tap V to close.
Radius – Select the circle you want to measure. Tap V to close.
Angle – Create the angle with 3 taps. Tap V to close.
 

Dimensions

Linear - Tap and drag or just tap two points to create a linear dimension. Drag the dimension up or down to position.
Diameter - Select the circle you want and drag the dimension to position it.
Radial - Select the circle you want and drag the dimension to position it.
Angular - Create the angle with 3 taps. The dimension will appear automatically.
  • Dimension size will match the zoom at the time of the creation.
 
 

Edit

Delete – Remove object from drawing
Copy – Place your finger on the object and drag to where you want to place it.
Edit Vertex – Tap and drag any of the vertices to change the size and shape of the object.
Edit Text – Opens the selected in a text box for editing.
Move - Place your finger on the object and drag to where you want to place it.
Scale – Tap and drag or just tap two points to create the scale. Change it by tapping the text box.
Rotate – Hold your finger on the object and turn. Edit the box for a more precise angle.
Mirror - Create a reflection copy of the object.
Offset – Tap where you want the offset object and edit the box values to match your needs.
Trim - select the new boundary to which you wish to trim your object and then tap Trim and select the object you wish to trim.
Extend - Select the new boundary or boundaries to which you wish to extend your object and then tap Extend and select the object you wish to extend.
Deselect – Remove object selection.
 


Palettes

 
Design Feed – A way to communicate with colleagues through the drawing. You post comments and photos and connect them to a part or point in the drawing.
Layers – Manage the layers in your drawing, turn them on\off, lock and create new ones.
Blocks – Add blocks from your drawings own block library (Pro users only). Choose the block you want and drag it inside the drawing, after which it can be scaled, rotated and moved.
View – Use this palette to change the between layouts and model or change the drawings view from 2D to 3D.
Properties – View selected objects properties (Pro users only).
 

Design Feed (Available for free users)
Tag – Tag someone in your post to share the drawing and inform them of your comment.
Post to point – Connect your comment to a specific point in the drawing.
Post to area - Connect your comment to a specific point in the drawing.
Add image – Attach an image to your comment.

 
Layers
New layer – Create new layer
Turn all off – Turn off all layers
Invert – Turn off the layers that are on and turn on the ones that are off.
Isolate – Show the layer of a selected object.
Set current – All mark ups will be associated with the current layer.
Lock – Locking the layer will not allow you to edit it.
Rename – Rename the layer
Delete – Remove layer
 
Blocks
Choose the block you want and drag it inside the drawing, after which it can be scaled, rotated and moved.
 
View (Available for free users)
2D
3D wireframe
3D solid
Layouts – Choose the layout you want displayed.
 
Properties
Shows the properties of a chosen object and allow you to add attributes.
Add attribute - insert a new attribute (tag and value).
